Forecast of N/NE 15-20 knots tomorrow. I'm desperate for a kite so will probaly head down after work tomorrow morning.

Hey Nobile, looks like the old sand island to the North of Outer Harbor. At least you got a kite! I'm officially desperate and drove down to North Haven today to find the wind off shore and light. Oh well, always next week! Great pics, by the way.

Great pics Nobile.

Excellent spot too (and deemed "secret" by some), the only one in Adelaide that works in every wind direction.
But before everyone rushes off to kite there, there is one little catch...

Some people take great joy in telling others why they cant or should not do something. These people are multiplying rapidly and are un Australian.

My advice use your own discretion and do not invite the party poopers to tell you why you cant do something.

Besides, overcrowding is unlikely for the reason already mentioned. I recall this place being discussed in detail on Seabreeze at least a couple of times before (photos, maps and all), but no crowds as yet...

It is called Pelican Island. A place much loved by the deh, scientists and assorted dolphin rooting types of the area. Too many big scary kite birds and boom- gameover.
