So i think I may have seen one of the first seabreezes come through yesterday at pazza. Or maybe my eyes were deceiving me :) Wasn't able to get out yesterday but I figured we should get the Pazza gang together again soon. Summer is here and hopefully some more seabreezes. Anyone else been getting out to Pazza recently?

Shoutouts to Pnuecube, Briz, Lang, Chaps and Godfather especially.

I need to get out on the water as my session at the Largs demo day involved a fine display of me losing everything I learnt and eating lots of salt water

Yeah, I know from a reliable source that at least 5 kiters were there late last Sunday afternoon enjoying 25+ knots SW-ly wind. Quite surprising, considering the Outer Harbour wind meter didn't record any worthwhile wind at the same time.

One of those kiters apparently has some shots of himself trying to jump over the boatramp carpark (or something like that). Maybe he can post some of them here?

hi guys, a few questions about paz:
What are your thoughts on wind on sat? also, low tide is only .8m at atound 3 oclock. whats the min tide you need there? also, is it possible to launch a boat (4. 75m tinny) in the channel.from a standard vehicle or do you need a tractor?
cheers in advance!

There is no min tide requirement at Parham it's just that it's a bit of a walk if you arrive at low tide. I kited there in tides as low as 0.2m and it's great, I personally prefer low tides - Parham is flat and glassy from about 0.8m down. At 0.8m its about 1km walk:

As to the wind this Saturday it's anyone's guess, the seabreezes haven't properly kicked in yet (last Sunday it wasn't a seabreeze) so based on the current BOM predictions it may just be very marginal. I guess we have to wait till tomorrow and hope for a bit of an upgrade to the wind forecast.

Hi SpawnofFossl

You will have to count me out until mid Jan. I had an opp on a football injury and I will be out of action.

Hope you can get a few good sessions in.

Just had a sesh, real nice but injured myself which cut it short (foot cut on rocks). Wind is still on here, but W. will prob be ok when it goes further round to SW.

Been a while since I've seen you Ryan. Yep, it was a pretty good session last weekend; a bit gusty at times, a bit weak at others for my 10, but ended up ok. Got a couple of cuts and bangs but mostly from stacking stupid dodgy jumps in the shallows.

Was a bit surprised to see how well the graphs picked up today- should have been really good if not a bit on the low side. Hope to head out tomorrow to Paz if the wind looks like picking up again, so may see you fellas there mid arvo.

Cheers, Brian

4 of us were out there today from 9-11am at high tide - was great!
Worth it at high tide - the little bit of extra depth means we didn't have to worry about the depth.

What graphs do you check? I've been looking all over the web for it.
Cheers

Hey Cat

I pretty much just use the Port Adelaide tide guide (the Adelaide one on sea breeze). This is pretty rough, but whenever that reads a tide of 1.0m or higher, with decent wind, Pazza seems to have water at the first channel marker pole and its as flat as- can be seriously good shallow water slicks at 1.0m. As Godfather says, there's a walk around 1km on nice firm sand, but it doesn't take long (if it's a SW sea breeze your kite helps pull you out there). Anything higher than 1.0m and it's good too- just gets a bit wavier/ choppier and the walk reduces as you'd have found this morning.

Cheers

They wish it did too Jim, but for me, unfortunately not so much. Some of the other guys managed though.

I arrived quite late but there was this stationary band of clouds over Parham that I think was killing all the wind. I'm guessing the wind fluctuated around 10kts average and kiting was s**t.
I was hoping for the cloud to move out of the way but it didn't. Only just before the sunset the sun got under it and at about 7.30pm it started blowing steady 15+ knots. I got out just beforte 8pm. Not quite the usual Parham weather.

Great stuff Hao! That just quadrupled the style factor at Parham. Hope to see you lads there sometime.

Not sure if it'll last. Outer Harbor reads <5k. Parham has been steady 16-18k (by iPhone) since I arrived 10mins ago. Tide still out but heading in.

Have a great time out there guys. This month my timing is complete rubbish, so I don't think I will be making it the next day or two. I only go out when it's nil wind!

Was anyone out there yesterday?

After driving back from a dissapointing day at Pt Hughes (SE and gusty) comming over the hummicks and down to port wakefield it was howling SW and all the way down to pazza. About 20 km sout of Pazza, no wind back to light SE.

Did anyone get a ride?

I have a wedding on this Saturday but will likely be out on Sunday depending on conditions. hopefully it swings around with a bit more west in it.

Anyone else for Sunday?

EDIT:

Looks like it could drop down to 12-13knots. Hopefully a seabreeze in the arvo will pick it up. Will update on prior to Sunday for anyone who is interested.

PS - For anyone who wants to keep in the loop with who is kiting where in South Oz there is a Facebook group with a few members.
