Two really good sliders down there as well, but tide too low to use them. Well made, but who put them up?

That whole area is tidal - no fresh water flows out of there any more (thanks NSW & Vic).

On a high tide the shelly sandbars are under water. High tides down there are completely out of sync with Outer Harbor - check Victor Harbor tides.

The sliders are mine cheers, live in goolwa so its my local spot, top spot be even better without the razor sharp shells

yeah mate generally a good idea to take the fins off your board so they dont catch, i wont be down there today but be down there whenever theres wind next week

We always go from the Hindmarsh Island side, as it's a sealed road and a 50m walk to setup area.I always wear booties because of the shallow water and sharp things lurking in the sandy bottom. The two sliders are to the south of the setup area, in the main lagoon. If you want to hit the surf, just sail upwind, or drive along beach from Goolwa. Here's some pics of a recent session down there. The wind at the Hindmarsh island weather station is always about 2-5 kts stronger than the mouth. Due south is the best direction, as it blows that way most days over summer, as it is the prevailing seabreeze. I live near Marino, and the mouth is about 80kms drive from my house, so is well worth the effort!

Hey I was thinking of checking out kiting down at the mouth, it looks great, esp the flat water. Do you go off of Hindmarsh Island (sugars road) or do you use a 4wd and go from the other side (4wd along tne beach) ??????? Whats the best winbd direction to go down there as well???
