Where are the best places for beginners to kite in S.A. Started last season with leasons, got a north rebel. can't wait for a sweet seabreeze.

There are a few options for you to get the hang of kiting this summer, a detailed list can be found on www.saksa.com.au > locations
basically your best options are somewhere around the chicken shop , largs bay (north of largs jetty), or north of grange jetty (nice and un-crowded). Be aware that during a sw seabreeze largs will sometimes drop to nothing or swing offshore suddenly. This does not happen as much at the chicken shop and it can still be ridden with a bit of SE in it.
Best not to go out at Henley as there is only a small area for kiting which will be very busy both on the water and on the beach, and not suited for beginners.
Finally in case you did not get to the sign up day be sure to join saksa (see details on the website) and wear your membership tag on your harness.

Theres a lake just North of Beachport in the South East- its massive and only a few feet deep in most places, so for a beginner, you can go miles and still touch in most places to walk back or to help relaunch-but the water tastes really salty and crappy-

hey dude the onboard team from glenelg are holding a fantastic day at barmera on the 1st-2nd nov ,this is a great place for learners -free bqu lunch , tea at the local footy club that night overlooking the lake and party till 3am at the vines -berri hotel . most of the guys are staying at the caravan park,right on the lake front so tell them you are here for the kite weekend. i have heard a romour that there may be 40 + doing the 2 1/2hr drive !have sent a pic of the latest condition of the lake (26/9/08) lovely beach now- no kites in trees or broken ankles this year eh guys! call caravan park on 85882234 or onboard 82943866- ask pete or stewie. or alternatively ph kym at barmera on 0414934143
