I saw on kiteforum that the guys from Wombat (aussie company) have released a kite attachment for their ground anchor. For those who don't know, its a screw in sand anchor you can use it as a self launching/landing tool as the anchor can hold about 500kg's so if anything happens, your kite isn't going anywhere. This is more aimed towards the people who kite alone the whole time....and no, I don't have any affiliation with them.

The cost of the 'Kite Ring" is $45 inc gst plus freight.
This includes a high tensile bolt which connects the Ring to the Wombat. The Karabiner is of commercial quality and rated. (brands like mammut/lucky/miller etc) The strap is supplied and multiple sewn by a company that specializes in military vehicle recovery.
