new pop looks cool, interested to ride at some point

are they all wakestyle boards? whats the difference between them?

i wonder if there is noticable difference between flow and pop? im always a bit iffy about wakestyle boards as far as how good they can go up wind. but iv heard the pop is pretty good for that. about 70% of our sessions at my local are in pretty light wind so it would suck to have a board that struggled in the light stuff. im on a naish monarch at the moment which is pretty good but snapped one already and the second one is starting to crack in the same spot. when it does eventually snap i was thinking either the north gambler (bananna board) or a pop. more than likely go with the gambler tho.

Yeah pop's an awesome board, it is heavy but you don't notice it at all once you're riding. They aren't indestructible but no board is. Easy upwind on it as it's nice and stiff, as long as you have enough wind to unhook you'll be fine.

Had a gambler but didn't like it as much, think it's a board for the lighter guys, only other board I'd look at would be the lf dlx or axis Parker.

Yeah you don't notice it in the water and probably the weight helps it ride smooth. I reckon adds momentum in rotations too.

I split one along the channel and a mate pulled an insert, but those were the early builds and warrantied.

My gambler was the older one without the concaves found it to flexy but I'm85kg, the north track system is sh!t also.

i'd go pop if you want to focus on any air tricks.

Dre's boards have always had too much rocker for my liking. He loves his kickers, rails and slashing waves and that's what the Flow is designed for. Not so much flat water pop.

I'm about to jump ship from a pop to a axis parker pro. Worth a look

The Pop is the staple wakestyle/freestyle board. The bottom shape allows for awesome upwind even though it has a fair amount of rocker on it. It is surprisingly good in lighter winds. The board is unchanged for 2014 aside from the graphics. I have never heard of one snapping.


The Flow is designed to transition well from rail to rail, carve well, and still excel in flatwater load and pop. It has a slightly higher rocker for soft landings and performance in waves and kickers but knowing Tona, the bottom shape will allow for good low end as well. The board is also slightly thinner and will be a touch lighter from what I gather.

In regards to Axis. The boards are different than Tona for sure but still awesome! I'm 85kgs and I really like the size of the Parker. Tranq is nice for sure but I felt more at home on the Parker. Adrian definitely knows how to make a board. They are good in lighter stuff too despite the rocker.

I run a tona 138 and a luluz 135
The luzuz is fast n light. It out performs the tona in light conditions .
When its cranking the tona cuts thru chop, easier to load and softer landings .
Then the luluz is a rocket ship and out of control !!!
It will extend your quiver but makes choosing harder lol

does the 138 feel to big for you funk myster? they also come in a 136 and a 140 aye?

Only feels big when 1 of my feet slip out ! lol
Can notice the weight , but still a great board !

Yeah thats what I think too mate. I agree with you completely.
But if they say they wont release a new board unless they feel they have something new why go and do the exact opposite.
Its just a bit of a shame when finally it looked like there was a company who would only release something new if they had well.. something new! Not just new graphics each year to keep the sales going.
But as I said great board non the less and looking forward to checking out the flow

because they openly said it, there's nothing new its just a change in graphics. its just saying hey guys we re painted the house so you have more variety.

I don't see this as releasing a new product, I see it as cosmetic renovation. I cannot think of one single kite, wake or snow company that runs the exact same thing for years on end, everyone apart from tona does exactly what tona does and then claim they've made some crazy developments too. at least they are honest.
