looks like perfect weather this weekend to test how light a wind i can kite in damo . i never though i would be happy to see yellow arrows all weekend
The Sector 60, and raceboards in general, don't really go in light wind much more than any other light wind board does (say a lightwind TT or flat rockered surf board)). What they do is go rocking upwind in those same light winds.
It does not follow that because you can go upwind then you can ride in lighter winds and just stay in position or go downwind. It is harder to ride the board downwind in very light winds because it is harder to maintain tension on the lines to keep the kite flying.
You do get a knot or two more of light wind but it's not the difference between kiting and not kiting.
