Yeah as I said, I'd go the 12 and 8 for the style and conditions I ride. You'd never be underpowered, but I reckon the 8 would hang on pretty well when it's windy.
Three + kites just gives you that comfort factor. You can be on the right kite, not just make do on a size close to what you really need to be on. But for you, sounds like the 12 could get too big, too often. Sell some **** and get three.

the more comments I read about this new version I am wondering If I should get one. I will wait for the demo day in victoria. let un know when ozone demo bus stops up in Torquey.

Personally I don't like the 8 - 12m gap. Good range but missing the kite you'd use probably 70% of the time being a 9 or 10m.

For example if I had to stick to two kites I'd probably go 5m and 7m which reflects my kiting needs vast majority of the time. (Current quiver 4/6/8/10 v1 reos using 6/8 mostly).

Note the V 4 have more wind rang than v1 Brohan. The two main kites are 8 and 10 m For me in Melb But more I kite the 12 m I may be able to delete the 10m

Cheers for all the info, I'm still no closer in choosing what two I want.... The 10-7 would be good because I'd use the 10 a lot but the 12 and 8 would get me out in less wind but in the middle I might be under powered.... Might just wait and get 3.

This year I have gone 5,8,10,12 m V4s I changed my Storm kite from 6m to 5m V4 due to the storm wind is 40 + +

Or get 10m + 12m new. Then find a second hand 7m from an east coast seller who never used it

Thanks V, so about the same you reckon? The Neo has such a big bottom end with the slower turning trade off you wonder how the Reo could achieve the same bottom end and keep the speed.

Hey Pearl, did you have the bottom of your board done like a zebra to keep the sharks at bay? I have heard rumors that it is sort of a deterrent.

Hey guys, after being a long time follower I finally registered to this forum. It seems the Reo is more popular in Australia than over here in Germany, so I could need some advice of you.
I want to replace my current quiver North Dice 7 (2015), Evo 9 & 12 (2011) with Reos V4 since I'm almost exclusively riding wave boards nowadays. My plan was to get 6/9/12, but I'm not entirely sure whether that gap between the 6 and 9 is still OK or too big? There have been some occasions where the Dice 7 was simply too big for riding a wave board, that's why was looking to substitute the 7 with 6, but I have no clue how comparable the Reo is to my current kites.

Oh, I'm around 73 kg in case that matters.

I'm same weight and have 6 9 12. Gap is fine. In past I have had 2m gaps and I'm more certain nowadays on which kite to take out. There is still some overlap with the the 3m gap. I'm still surfing wave (not getting dragged and flying the kite like a ballon at 12)
6m to high 30's (kn)
9m to high. 20's
12 to low 20's
have to factor into that the more onshore (easterly) I use a bigger bigger kite plus temperature. Also the larger sizes are better if you ride in a direction that you want to punt. Where I live the kites this season are all getting equal usage

82kg.... I do not have the windranges of the other kites yet as not being able to fly them yet.

It seems the 12m needs a bit more startsining to get going in the lightwinds than the V3...but is very smooth..a.little tending to backstall in the lightwind, it seems to turn faster, very stable flying also in gusts where the V3 started wigglle the tips a bit, I did not notice this in gusts with the V4, the 12m seems to have a wide range just as the V3, the kites are much calmer lying down on the beach, no tendensy to fly up, which makes self landing much easier than with the V3.

I think a 4 kite quiver would have a bit too much over lap.

I ended up going the 8m - 12m combo, I've got a 2017 8m Ozone Reo and a 12m Ozone Reo (2015), the two kite quiver Kind of works but there's no real overlap in the middle so you're either under powered or over powered. If I were to get a new quiver I'd probably go a 6/7, 9 and a 12. I had this before I went down to the two kite quiver and it felt good. Anything more then three kites and I think there'd just be too much overlap. Unless you're going for like a 17m kite.

But I'm very happy with the 8m Reo feels so smooth and the drift feels better, I've also found the kite get's you up and going in less wind if you move it around more aggressively.

Ozone, I'm in that elusive and eternal search for the best light wind surf kite. I have a 2015 6m, 2017 8m(go to kite), 2014 10m Reos. My opinion still is that 2014 was a massive leap in performance, improvements have been subtle(in comparison) ever since. My 10m is happy at 15knot for me(76kg) and I'm looking for the 8m by 18knot. I'm suspicious whether a 12m will give me much extra as I'm happy to work the 10. Alternative of course is the 14m Enduro. Can you give me your honest appraisal of the choice. I've been down the alternate brands option but it seems to bring up more problems than it solves. I'm advanced and know what I like(and don't like) and surf is the only use. I can't imagine a better performance lighter wind board than the one I already have. Thanks for your response

I would agree with you that in the 2014 to V3 10 models there was not a lot of difference for a skilled rider between a 10 and a 12, but of course the 12 would give the absolute best bottom end, with the trade off that it was just that tad slower through the sky and turning. The turn rate of those years 12's was the limiting factor.
V4 though is another big leap in performance and you notice it most in the 12 and in the smaller sizes too. I have not used my 14 Enduro as much since the V4 was released, although for those 12/14 knot days at the pass up here I'll still use it. The way the 14M moves does limit my riding a bit and if I get it wrong I occasionally get it wet in the onshore conditions up there, you just have to adjust your thinking and keep the kite a bit higher and think ahead.
I much prefer the 12 Reo though and will use that without hesitation if the wind is more in the 13/14 knot range, if its dropping out to 10's then I need the 14 for the ride back upwind. I also only ride surfboards and a session is a session, I've only got a limited number of summers left ha! (like all of us)
