My Comments:
This board is true to the hype. I took a leap of faith and ordered the board sight unseen through Kite Addiction in Myree and have been blown away by its stability and light wind capabilities. It planes early and is very nimble. I purchased the 5'6" and even paddle surfed it at Trigg last weekend even though I am 6 foot and 102 kg!!!!

I am now hanging out to see it perform in heavier, cross shore winds and a decent swell. I highly recommend giving this board a test. I believe Dan has a 5"2' for demo at Kite Addiction.

Love to hear other people's feedback.

interesting, how is the construction feeling (weight wise) to normal paddle surfboards?

Thanks!

It is definitely heavier and I admit it was a bit of a surprise. At the same time it is not as heavy as the F-One 5"6' Fish that it was bought to replace. I am definitely happy with its weight and do not see this as an issue at all.

Prefer kitesurf boards without gelcoat allowing to see into/inside the board. They cannot hide the manufacturing errors as they do with painted (gel coated) boards. RRD is such a brand too.

dude you dont know ****. they dont use a gelcoat on boards. it is no longer 1982!!
It is painted. Firewire paint the yellow corecell foam under the glass in the FST so it looks more like a surfboard which is supposed to be white according to the general surfing population.
John please keep your misguided opinions to yourself in future.

Just a call out to see if anyone knows of any stores in Australia that have a 5'0 or 5'2 Vanguard (kite construction) in stock.

Just got a new 5'10"

FireWire Potatonator, plan is to use it for surfing small mush but when the
wind comes in it should be good to go as a light wind, small wave kite weapon.
Have to see how it goes and report back after a few sessions!

gelcoat or painted under the glass - whatever
I want clear see through. When some water infiltrates you can see it and repair.
