How do you go about boosting on a 19m kite
....Is it the same technic as on smaller kites ![]()
My biggest kite is a 12m but I find it more difficult to boost on it than my smaller kites in stronger winds.....not that I get that high yet,......still need to work on my technic a bit ![]()
I can boost heaps better in flat water dan on choppy bumpy conditions but the best is flat water with a small kicker like on an ocean lagoon with waves on the outside, nice steady consistant wind and been overpowered helps too
I find smaller kites in stronger winds move quicker and are more explosive therefore better for boosting but imagine bigger kites have better hangtime
Was a guy out on a 17m Edge the other day in the waves,he was not boosting that high but he seemed to hang in the air a lot longer than normal, and he ALWAYS touched down softly when he landed,he floated over the 2-3 ft waves and whitewash with ease ![]()
Dusta
Do you remember when you were at around 20kns where you still full power? It sounds like the smaller leading edge is allowing some nice top end for this kite.
What would you compare the font edge size to? 14m 16m etc....
Sorry for all the questions, hope you don't mind.
My 16m with no one pump is a bitch to pump. I seem some of the guys saying the leading edge of the 19m is smaller then the 18m Dyno.

Go just to help a little. I will keep things really simple.
Small kites will always jump higher then big kites (given the small has the right wind)
Its all physics really. The small kite is faster and able to convert energy faster. Example to are riding forward with good wins in your 7m. You can whip the 7m back to 3pm in a hart beat thus converting all your forward energy to upward energy. Now you have a nice high jump on your hands. However at the apex this is where things change. The small kite has now expended all its energy and is falling out of the sky with you attached. The big kite can disperse your weight better and fly (so to speak) this is called hand time. Really simplified answer???..
However with the right timing you can get a big kite to jump really well then with the added hang time the jumps look huge to the people on the beach lol.
Chop is hard for anyone to really connect and jump high off
Kickers are a big kites best friend (these will help you get some crazy height)
Hope this help.
If you get a small board (I ride a 128m) take the 12m into the 20s if you can hold it. Get speed and hit the kicker and throw the 12m like you would the small kite..... enjoy!
I have an 11m that I use in 25-30kns (Im 80k). Getting as high as the 7m-9m is no problem. I often see their bridles and leading edges.
Hey you 19m owners help me out!!!!! Give me some info about your kites!!!!!
Ok I bought the 19m I'll let you guys know lol
quite bunch..... Ozzie's are not know for being silent!
Thanks for the tips Tommer,Im thinking of buying a bigger kite than the 12m but I will wait till May,should be plenty of 7 - 9m days over the next 5 months here ![]()
