Hey guys i was out kiting this afternoon at Melville around 330pm when i got into trouble and had to release everything. Was about 500m -700m out and the kite may have washed up at Crawley near Matilda Bay reserve, or somewhere along Mounts Bay road side of Narrows bridge.

Apparently 2 guys on a boat brought it in and asked around but at that stage i was still either swimming back to shore or driving around. Anyway if you know anyone that has found an 11m blue North Neo kite with bar and lines plz pm me. Willing to pay reward.

Also big thanks to Ryan who scooped up my twintip while I swam back. One less thing to look for. My gear looks like this.

I just got a call from my old man who was the person on the boat who found your kite out in the middle of the river. He has all your gear and if you PM me I'll give you his mobile number.

Whilst on the phone to him, I checked this forum, so he is currently calling the water police to let them know you are ok. Up until not long ago the Police were searching the river with a number of other boats (including my folks) looking for you.

The guys on the boat who found my kite in the river found someone elses board 100m away and assumed it was mine. There was a search party of a few boats for 1.5 hours Thanks to those who looked for me. Feel bad peeps wasted their time. Will post full story somewhere else. Was a hell of a day.

Hi all, if you don't have this number in your phone please put it in now. WA Water Police (08) 9442 8600. Please immediately contact water police if you become separated from your kite (or if you see someone separated from their kite) and it's drifting away from the shore. A drifting kite will always be considered as a missing person case by the authorities so please report it ASAP.
