Pure douche-baggery!

Well, I guess at least he is not kite-SUPing into the waves. Probably the only way his behaviour could get any more obnoxious.

Relax - don't believe everything you read on the Internet!

As soon as we saw there were guys out there, we decided to leave.
Brad got a few, while his mates called him on. I took one wide left (the photo), then headed down the beach where we had 3-5 foot beachies to ourselves.

Another seabreeze storm in a teacup.

That's funny your story here is different here from other sources, seems you and your mates stuck around longer and took more waves than you're alluding to here. Just tell the truth and you can't go wrong

"Other sources"? Other anonymous / nameless keyboard heroes? Whatever mate.

What I said is the truth.  If you like to sit in front of your computer, and talk sh!t about someone you don't know, then nothing I say is going to change that.
Everyone who knows me, knows I would tell the truth. I don't know who you are to call me a liar.

Do not misinterpret this as an apology, or  me trying to justify my actions. I have been a surfer my whole life, and I know we did not hassle or endanger anyone in the 5 minutes we were at Shark Island yesterday.

I am not particularly interested in what the "Seabeeze Jury" has to say about it, I just thought I should take the opportunity to set the record straight.

Having done that, I'm going for a surf now.

@surferstu i am the other mate (so it's not 'mates', only the 2 of us) and i wrote the comments in your source

I only estimated craigs wave count, as i was not watching him the whole time, hence i said 2 or 3 to be safe

For those who didn't read all the 80 comments so far on swellnet, i know the wave and the people who surf there, i'd say that close to all of the hate comments are from those who don't surf there

The wind forecast was considerably higher then what we had at that time, as this is a high tide wave at this size we had a limited window of opportunity so we checked it out, and no you can't see the surfers in the line up from the launch area, so we where in and out in 10 mins tops. Generally if it's windy enough there will be no one out, hence we left

I sincerely apologise for pushing the boundaries of the sport and will stick to mowing the lawns in the future... (not)

A band wagon roles through town and all the haters want to jump on. Both the guys a sic surfers and kiters who know what they are doing and always respect other water users. Seabreeze is full of so many morons quick to voice there opinions on stuff they know nothing about without finding out the whole story first.

Unlike you strapped who probably still uses straps they, they were on the same boards as "surfers" without straps.

yeah Rob I use straps, my apologies for being inferior to your skill. What I meant was i thought most people surfed Shark island on body boards, maybe you could lead the charge Rob for unhooked dropknee and break new boundaries. Take a chill pill.

Congrats prawnie posting that inflammatory little bubble of nothing, and the next 2 polies jumping in to have a bash without knowing anything of the story.

Reading the swellnet comments there was only 1 hater and he apologised later after every local surfer jumped in saying 'brad's cool, one of us, knows what he's doing, gives and gets respect, leave him alone."

I usually lurk, but I have to add my perspective.

We decided to ride up to Shark Island as it was high tide and side shore 15-20 . We have had some epic days on 7m +30 knots. (no surfers)

Brad and Craig launched with 9m's and started on the 1Km upwind leg. I put up a 12m and was about 10 mins behind them.
By the time I was halfway there the boys were coming back down, They said there were too many surfers so we all kited the main beach.

Most up us who wave Kite at Wanda also Surf here , Craig and Brad are two of the best .

We live here and know better than anyone the consequences any kiter incident might have, we take due care and respect the surfers in their line up.

In hindsight it just wasn't windy enough to ride shark Island yesterday,

Looks can be deceiving. It usually sucks dry on the reef. The take offs are generally too steep for most surfers. I've never surfed it and don't wish to.

OK I am sorry.

Really I am - but surely it is a reasonable assumption that if they kited out there and saw "too many surfers" they'd have not caught a wave or entered the zone?

But I still assumed so I am sorry.

Now for sorries - it is the turn of those who said surfers should get out out the water if kiters are around.

He didn't like being called obnoxious.

Now he will log in under about 15 different log-ins and red thumb me.
