No way man... I didn't get off my BMX to tie or stick a card to the forks. When an empty aluminium can was found in the local shopping centre carpark, I used to ride the front tyre over the middle of the can. The can would crush, wrap around the BMX tyre until the can got lodged in the forks. Unlike spokey dokeys the 'motorbike' sound would happen at all speeds.
Unless you were one of those freaks that could do a wheely for a 100m or more, fast hero BMX bandit style riders got no attention seeking noise from spokey dokeys. All that effort weaving through the bank customers in front of the R&I before bunnyhopping off the 10cm high curb and no noise benefit.

Spokey dokeys made the most amount of noise at the wrong time. When one had the misfortune of a puncture and was forced to push their bike.
