I saw a vid once,

A guy treks to the top of a sand dune,

runs down the hill with leading edge forward and reverses his bar (red on right hand) so he is using his kite like a traditional parachute setup as he flies parallel to sand dune for about a KM.

Sounds cool huh? Any one else seen people kite like this?

I wouldn't mind checking out some other vids and giving it a go on the snow.

Yeah i know the vid your talking about - can't remember what its called was on an LEI wasn't it ?

the technique you described is kinda how they all "fly" on the snow/land apart from holding the bar the wrong way round. . . most fly backwards

it's a lot more technical than you think in the snow takes some practice to ride down on a board and spin yourself round take off backwards

you've definitely got the right idea of practicing on a hill or sand dune first before your on holiday

heres an old vid of some landboarders doing it nothing special but you can see the technique

Go to 2:54 min and the hangtime is awsome as he is so far away from the dune

yeah thats the vid - nice one coldshot

seabreezeb - if it's your first time doing this do it when the wind is blowing directly at you/the hill at about 10 -12 mph
keep your kite pointing into the wind unless looping
. . . . . and as deceivingly slow as all these flying videos look you do start to pick up downward speed so remember a heli-loop just before you land from any decent height to slow down the landing

All fun vids,

but the interesting thing is this guy rotates kiteboard kite LEI 180deg and is travelling forwards.... pretty cool!

Interesting concept for you guys to think about flying forwards down a hill trailing edge facing you, reverse the bar.

From memory it was a Pink Best Waroo wasn't it? He flew back and forth up the ridge for ages!
