Your problem is right there. Try keeping the board on by pushing down with your toes instead so the the middle of your foot pushes up into the strap. Most pads have toe ridges for a reason - your toes will be pushing into, not away from, the pad to increase grip. Try it on land without a kite to work out the physics. You may need to adjust your straps too if you change your technique.
