Some use surf wax but I dont like to.
Try a silicone based lube from a boating store.

Pretty sure it's just a standard rope you can buy from a boat chandler. I think we've had a few posts on this before.

I definitely wouldn't be paying 5x more for a brand name rope... Be careful as too much lube may stop the cleat from grabbing.

I have never done this however I have used a kite that has had it done. The owner tells me that he removes the depower line and dip into melted candle wax. The wax had been melted over a pot od boiling water. Apparently it prolongs the life by five times.

I replaced mine with a thinner diameter rope and works a treat.

i had this problem with most of the fuels i have had . i use my kites alot and wear out a lot of chicken loops 1 every 2 months . but i do use them mainly in the wave so theres a lot of movement . so i decide to make a roller bar out of stainless steel and also move the ends of the bar just a bit , you will have to remove the screws and drill new holes . when you fly the kite have a look where the rope is rubbing on the top or bottom of the hole in the bar this will give you a guide to where the bar ends will have to be moved ( less than 1mm) doing this has worked great and it is now 4 months with no problems .
heres what i have done hope this helps
