Hi
just bought a ram air peter lynn kite but it didnt come with a pump,so I have bought a foot pump one from a camping shop and want to know how hard to pump it up????
They didnt tell me in my lesson

No worries mate, grab a jar of vasoline, take the fittings off the end of the tube, jab the end of the tube in the jar then drop ya pants stick it up ya date, then start pumpin, use your foot, someone told me it was easy... you dont even need to take the kite out of the bag

Thanks for the responds manicskier but you musnt know much about this extreme sport so I will wait for an answer from someone who actually knows about kite gliding

I think your issue is that this is a kite surfing forum not a kite gliding forum.

I was under the distinct impression that you didn't pump up a ram air, it does it for you. Maybe ask the guy you bought it off? oh and may be a lesson!

Just keep pumpin till it forms Tetrahedral shape, then it'll be beaut

I sometimes have sleepovers and can fit up to 7 people, yes 7 , in all the panels !

Great all terrain useable kite

hey didn't tell Let it Blow how hard to pump up his PL ram air in his lesson.

Methinks Let it Blow got his lesson from the Byron Bay Budgie Smuggler.

Ok so I didnt need the pump(got a foot pump for sale going cheap)and that explains why I couldnt find a nippel to stick my hose into.
How can it blow itself up???I looked for one of those ripcord thingies you see on self inflating life rafts but mine dosent have one???

I only paid $1500 for it and its only 3years old.I did research,they are $1800 new,so I got a really good deal.

I need one of those adult nappies - I was pissing myself after let it blow's first couple of posts - totally lost it with the CO2 inflation (aka rip cord thingy)canister... thats just gold!!!

Sometimes a laugh is all you need - as Ben says I cant wait to see what the fish is on the end of this line

The guy told me that a new kite looses about $100 a year in value and he threw in a free lesson useing one of his blow up kites.Said it was better to crash one of his old kites instead of the one I just bought,which I think was pretty good of him.

It doesn't loose anything, it 'loses' about $100 a year.

Lose is as in lost
Loose is as in loose woman, loose as a goose etc.

Geez, this was great post until you introed my pet hate.

It's funny that even Ewan, whose I think in his early teens, can see what's going on better than you can - come on, spill, what's this all about really.

ok ok come on guys enough with the jokes,, dispite the poor bugger trying to pump up a doona and calling it kite gliding.... time to actually help the bloke out.

The kite uses the wind to inflate itself mate. its EXTREAMLY important that you get some LESSONS before you try KITEBOARDING/KITESURFING. Make sure you get your lessons with an instructor thats familiar with ram air kites.

the guy who sold you the kite, must of had BIG windows, cos he certainly saw you coming. Ive got an old broom handle and some washing lines if you need a bar as well? only $300 or you gona use handles?

please call a kite shop for some lessons and they`ll show you how to inflate your kite and fly it without cleaning everyone up on the beach.
