looked the same to me. on the north website too. what's different?
a little different, new what looks like a plastic black cleat, steering line knots are now hiddin in bar ends and floats are now part of the bar.. check the wa surf web site for more details.
There are a lot of changes to the kites and bars too. Don't expect major changes in a design that has been evolved and honed to such an extent as the Rebel.
For the nay sayers and people making vague assumptions without any first hand experience, rather than be negative, why not drop into the shop? We have a 2013 9m Rebel for demo along with one of the new 2013 X-Rides and a 6'2" Pro series wave board (currently on demo).
North have done an amazing job with the bars and kites this year and most of the improvements will likely set new standards for the industry.
We went to the dealer meeting expecting some minor innovations and tweaks, but came away excited and amped for a new season of kick arse gear. I would imagine most riders will be well impressed, so why not keep an open mind until you have had a ride on the new gear as the dealers all have? The gear speaks for itself.

Agreed, hard to beat 2012, such a good kite.
As I said cant wait to hear the reviews on the new kites and bars.
I just noticed something horribly wrong with the new bar.. no bar size adjustment? Or do the top ends and floats detach and swivel?
... you can adjust the bar width, I don't think the pics really show you but I asked my local dealer and he confirmed you still change position for wide/narrow bar.
It would be nice if North made a bar that didn't wear the front lines out in the first three months of use, and/or if the front lines are going to break, as they do, make an iron heart that will make it easier to replace the front lines when they always break!!!
Never had that problem with the 2012 bar? Still has original front lines and depower line? Yeh the iron heart takes a bit of technique when changing. Still like it for untwisting lines.
