I have a mate who bought a Torch 4 who is keen to sell. He has used it maybe 10 times, it is in perfect knick, cool colours. He would sell for $1300 if anyone keen. It is too much of a weapon for him, he likes a bit more depower!!

Having said that he is off to G-Land for the next 10 days, so he should get his surfing fill there!!

im getting my two NEW torches with one set of bar and lines for (8m,12m) for 2400 US, which is like 2500Aus, which i think is a good deal, and des not include shipping. should I buy another bar and lines for resale later?

Nah, Naish has kept the Torch. Its the only non-sigma kite they have left. I think their team riders prefer it, and they pretty much haven't changed the design from 2007 to 2008.

I thought the Sigma series had been a success. I think the 2009 kites will be refined again and that will be the test of whether the design has longevity. I guess the proof is in the competitions, I don't know if anyone is using them in pro comps? Most people who own them think they are the shiznit! But everyone thinks that of whatever they own.

Nay. They aren't built very well.

I'd go North Vegas if you want a C kite. Its built so much better and overall is a much nicer ride.

??? Not sure which Naish kites you're talking about? Although I know the leading edge seams can go due to sun degradation on the early 2007 Torches - any others???

Every older/heavily used North kite I've seen, the material looks really soft. Not sure who they use for material but I remember they always had that problem on their spinnakers in my sailing days. Do agree that North are well built tho.

Anyway - I love my Torch3, not sold on sigmas yet, don't think you'll have a worry with a Torch4

I've seen so many Torches fall apart.... my leading edge bladder burst within 6 months. Appauling for a premier kite brand.

If you want a C kite, go 2008 Vegas.
