Sailboarded in the southerly lagoon many years ago, had great SE....good conditions.

Its got a pretty nice sandy flat lagoon once you get out a bit; watch out for bones and bommies at the east end near the jetty

all this from memory

maybe we just lucked in with wind one July; other times I've been there its been waterskiing conditions!

check out G-Earth...it has pretty clear pics

I was there in August/September last year and it blew nearly every day. Unfortunately I didn't take my kit because most of it was broken, and I was travelling to loads of different places and not just Fiji. I seriously regret not taking it now.

The Yasawas are awesome but I think there's only a few spots that are really suited to kiting because of the prevailing wind and launching/landing areas. Try Sunset Waya - I know this is kiteable. You should go there anyway because the guy who runs it - Moses - is an absolute legend! He is so funny and has some great party tricks. Check out the pics;

I'm not too sure about Mana island. There is a big lagoon which is super-flat water but as I remember the lagoon is partially sheltered from the prevailing wind.

Good luck and if u want more info just ask

Cheers

Mate, let us know how it was on Mana. We've planned a whole week there for end of June and intend to bring along our kites.
On Google-Earth you can spot the beautiful lagoon to the South - would be good to understand if airstrip isn't a hazard (or even a showstopper) for kiters, and how the entry and exit is with regard to corals.
We were also wondering if the Western, well exposed tip of the island, both South inside the Lagoon, as well as North towards the open sea were ideal for kiting. There's a little sandy island about a km North... Should have some awesome flatwater there...
Looking forward to your news,
