Could a manufacturer please conssider designing a kid bar?

The issue is that due to the length of the chicken loop and the safety release above, when powered, the bar is already at half reach for my 11 years old daughter.

This gives her a maximum depower reach of about 15cm, it is a shame because it would be so much easier if she could depower at the bar.

With more older kiters getting the young ones into our sport, there has to be a market for a bar that would sit real close to the hook giving the grommets ample reach to depower.

if a manufacturer actually decides to create one, could I get a free sample for bringing it up????

A welded ring www.ronstan.com.au/marine5/product.asp?ProdNo=RF123 to replace the chicken loop would work with a Cabrinha bar (pre-2013). You just need a shackle for the IDS and something to work as a donkey dick.

You could take a bar and a harness to a yacht chandler and they would figure something out for you.

Naish offer three different sized chicken loops for the smart loop system, which can decrease the length somewhat. The smallest is 25cm, which means about 12cm long under load, a good 5cm shorter than the stock loop. the bars also feature clean and simple length adjustments and the 2013 ones are a thinner diameter through the grip which are all good things for smaller riders.
still not a dedicated Kids bar but might be worth a look.

Yeah Dimitri from Epic kites brought out a dedicated Junior kite and bar for his son Cameron who i think was eight at the time and now is ten ...

He as parent 1st - did not want to risk his Sons life with gear designed for adult reach and strength... Cameron has also just started up a kids section on Kiteforum, relevant to kids n there pics..

Have fun

The bar is specially made just for the small hands and shorter arms. The bars design is to cater to the strength to weight ratio of those under 12 and 110 pounds. Designed with a reduced diameter and a small chicken loop to make it easier to hold onto and release the safety. A shorter depower line that has no stopper and a break line 2 meters above the swivel make this a very safe bar for kids and teaching

Awesome, thank you for the sugestions, I new someone would have to have a decent bar.

Might give it a few days to recover the bank from the misses Xmas splurge (and the new ozone Reo 4m and harness that I just bought for her) but with another 2 grommets queuing up to learn, I will need one of those.

Thanks for the PM, expect to hear from me within a month.

Cheers,

No probs sebol.

Just for interest and I admit I haven't researched thoroughly but Dimitri seems to be the only one who caters so much for the little ones.

Harness - XS= 28-30" [ 71-76cm ] Perfect for 6 to 10 year old kids.
Kids TT - 115 x 32.5
Junior Pro kite with junior bar - 4m kite (small version of the renegade)

Looks you're sorted for a while with the 4m Reo.

Since she already does some wake boarding on my kiting directional surf board and since we only ride waves, I will bypass the twin tip and she will start on my strapped surfboard

The bar just looks like a normal bar with short throw and a small C-loop. This is an easily attainable mod for just about any bar these days (as mentioned above). Also most bars come with a small reduced diameter grip these days which would be fine for a small kid.
Good to see someone is thinking of the groms though! I wonder how much longer till brands design for advanced riders and not just kooks ...

Cabrinha make the siren bar for women (good forkids) with extended toggles on the de power strap and a smaller chicken loop. As rowdy said its pretty easy to modify your gear.
