I've been riding my 5 line North Rhino 05's for the last 4 seasons (14m,10m). This season I thought I needed to get with the times and update. So I bought a 14m Rebel 08, thinking that if I liked it I would also get a smaller one.
While I like that it boosts better on jumps than my 14m Rhino 05, I find it hard to get used to how far back it sits in the window. Normally with my Rhino I would edge hard in the gusts which would instantly send it to the front of the window and depower it. My Rebel just doesn't want to do this. It just stays back in the window no matter what. Also, unless it is well powered, it doesn't seem to go upwind as well as my Rhinos.
I've tried another 5 line hybrid, a mate's Naish Alliance 08 and it sat much further forward in the window, much like what I was used to from my old Rhinos. I'm thinking of selling the Rebel and getting one of these instead.
Is this normal for the Rebel? If yes, what's the advantage? Or could I have it set up wrong e.g. 5th line too short ?
Any advice much appreciated. ![]()
