down at woody's this afternoon and some little c#nts must have been hiding in the bushes and as soon as we got on the beach they smashed the window and went thru the ute as well as two other cars down there. This $hit is not on!! I'm going to talk to the local council about the car park having cameras put in this really needs to be done. If every one who has been in this situation does this the council will be forced to act. I'm so pissed that this **** is happening ,dirty f#ckers.

sorry to hear about it mate. It's been going on at all beaches for ages. The council will hopefully look at it but more than likely they won't give a toss. The best thing to do is go for a walk in the bush before you hit the water or take nothing to the beach. Also dark and stormy days is when they strike the most as there is usually no one around.

not only woodies but leighton as well, got down thursday and pulled up next to car with window smashed, found the poor surfer and let him know. then sunday i and the car next to mine got done over but some guy heard the windows smash and chased the little natives to the waiting commodore rego 1cui-991, they got away with a nappy bag and make up hahaha. when speaking to the cops this number plate had come up a few times that day from around the river and then along the beaches. the wife has to go in and make a statement this arvo so with a bit of luck they have got them BUT what will happen? another slap on the wrist and we are still out of pocket.

I had a solution when I was living over there which came fortuitously. My car was a real old Nissan bomb and I used to park it unlocked and window down. Needless to say there was nothing of value inside it and it was not worth pinching itself.

Short of setting a trap for the little pricks there really is not much else you can do. They know that folk lock all their valuables in the car when they are on the water and it is easy pickings.

Probably the same buggers that got me at leighton a week before you got done vert.
Would be nice to get my towels back if they get caught.
I'm now leaving absolutely nothing in the car with drivers window down and car unlocked.

Can you tell us what colour and model commodore they were driving?

There's council elections in Cockburn in a couple of weeks

www.cockburn.wa.gov.au/

I would happily vote for someone who would do something about crime, trouble is they all vow to get tough on crime. Talk is cheap

The only problem with leaving the car unlocked and windows down is if they steal
the car your insurance wont cover you,but if its a bomb I guess you wouldnt worry about insurance.

you'd have to be a real dope to tell the insurance company that you left your car unlocked with the windows down when it was stolen

if you can get enough people to put in and a kite or surf shop to sponsor it set up a 24 hour broardban web cam similar to swellnet, or maybe this is an opening for seabreeze...... which covers the car park and shows the water and wind conditions

Yeah disturbingly, if they're ever caught they'll get nothing more than a warning and a gentle wrist slap only to be back out there the next day, would put money on that one!

Wonder how the sailing club goes with storing their boats there. how much trouble Do they have with the thieving little bastards. Wonder what the possibility is of joing forces and using the same cage/storage facility for our cars?

Just break their ****in kneecaps, baseball bat should do.
How are they going to get to the cop station to get you in trouble after that anyway? They probably wouldn't go anyway because they are wanted for a heap of other stuff.

when applying the bat or other blunt instrument make sure it is applied in a forcerful manner to back of legs or knees , constant reminder for days later will alert the cretins to the fact it is not a good idea to do this behaviour, they have no respect for them selves or other people
unfortunately it will be the only way , i could not see them gettin away with it on bondi if it was a Bra Boys car

Gin trap on the seat (chained to the car), covered with a towel, and some sunnies or something as bait. Even if they escape, before having the law of the jungle explained to them in a suitably blunt and forceful manner they're bound to turn up somewhere with a hellishly sore arm.

Kind of hard to argue that it was a dangerous thing to do - after all, it was safely secured out of sight in a locked car..

have a good imobiliser for your car and leave nothing in it and unlocked. A couple months ago my whole neighbourhood got done, mine and the missus car were one of the few without smashed windows cause we never lock the cars. Yeah they both got ransacked but we didn't have to fork out for new windows

just spoke with Tony Romano who is a local polly and from what he said about woody's it's not a local council problem it's a state government one, not like a polly to pass the buck but he did say if he is re-elected he will make sure that he pushes the issue Ok won't hold my breath. another thing he did say was that the combined security of cockburn and melville will end next july so the cockburn council will be be doing a full review of it's security and that there has been talk of cameras in the hot spots so fingers crossed and if you have the time give him a call to harass him for cameras his no. is 0450879389

Lol Xortya.

Not knowing what a gin trap was your idea was the first thing that came to my mind .

Google has educated me thankfully, although some people obviously felt that poison wasn't enough.

You'd have to be a real dope to think that after they find the car, the insurance company dont have a look at the car for forced entry. No smashed window,no damaged lock,no cover.Read the fine print dude.Like if your at the servo filling up and leave the keys in the car when you pay,if someone jumps in and drives away and trashes your car, stiff sh#t.
They will try and worm out of paying, trust me.It happend to my mate.
They dont just say "ok,heres a fist full of cash no questions asked"
You obviously havent dealt with insurance people before??

problem with the bat bush idea is its at your local ur there almost every day so a) finding you will be easy and b) he will probably return with 50 of his drugged up butt buddies and come return the favour...

now the bear trap idea is gold lol

any of these would work well

I recommend attaching one end of a rope to the end of the trap, and the other end of the rope to a nice little 2 line 16m that is being held down on the other side of the dunes and is ready to be hot launched.

Cos if you're going to do something, you should do properly

Same thing with the bear trap in a car, they know which car is yours..

They're pretty stupid, why not take turns keeping an eye out. Once they know people are watching they'll get jack of it, or you'll catch them. Bags not watching when it's pumpin though!
