Aido

Sorry to hear about the injury , get well soon.

I am curious to know whether you were strapped or unstrapped as well?

It wasn't until I kited on Sunny coast that i realised that Swanny/Brighton waves do pack such a punch.

Sh!te - that's a shocker aido.

I particularly cringed at the description of your stump flapping about at an incorrect angle in the surf.

Bruised bones take aaaages to feel right again. I didn't know it was possible until I dumped by a big set and landed heel 1st on the swanny reef either.

All the best for a quick return to aquatic fun mate and don't scrimp on the excercises your physio sets for you. Best way to a speedy recovery.

Hope you mend fast.

Luckily you did'nt hit your head. You could have ended up in hospital with a comma.

i was strapped love using straps you can hit waves really hard but think i wont be using them for a while when i get back into it but will go back to using straps

& if you dont like my spelling or punctuation pretty simple dont read it

cheers all again & enjoy the summer winds catch you out there over winter

jeez that sux. It'll take time but will all heal up.

a while back a local rider landed so hard his ankle/lower leg folded and the bone came out of teh skin and went through the top layer of glass and into the pvc core - hole in it!

does medical insurance cover for this? I heard you can only get 3rd party cover through WAKSA.. but what if something like this happens to ya?

private health cover, but be careful of who you choose. A guy once said to me orthopedic surgeons should have a coffee table in the waiting room made from their chisels, and nothing else. Thats how your knee/injury will be afterwards.

Try reading the sentence in one breath, you'd need private health insurance.

I've dislocated my knee three times and I know the pain involved, add to this being dragged through the surf with an ankle injury as well I cant imagine the pain you had to endure.. good to see good people on the beach helping out, hopefully karma will pay them a nice visit....

yeah ive got private health cover but dosent cover because i was classed as an out patient had to pay just over $2000 so far for scans specialist & the contraption on my leg as well as been a contractor so no work no pay could have been all covered if i stayed in hospital pay the first $500 same as income protection dosent kick in for 6 weeks so check your covers carefully i know ill be changing mine when i start working again or keeping a bit more in my emergency stash

Your pain must have been off the scale.. I can't begin to think of how you felt! Great to hear you got looked after on the beach.

You're right about the robo cop look, so after a quick look around, I've got you a new avatar - while you dream of better days ahead.. Sorry for lack of kite, best I could come up with, hopefully brings a smile

Wishing you a full and fast recovery dude.
