WE are running an article in the next issue of Kiteboarder Magazine featuring some of the top travel destinations, how to get there and when to go and so forth for those of you keen to escape winter.
Anyway, we thought it could be an interesting side project for you guys to post some of your epic kite destinations, whether you've kited there or just scoped it on google earth, post links, pics or google earth co-ordinates.
The most epic spot nominated will win the ultimite kite travel tool from Flying Objects - the Surf Roller Bag - check it out at www.flyingobjects.com.au. The ultimate soloution for a kitesurfing trip or the fast growing kite/surf trip. We've been using one for our past few trips and swear by it.
This is a development we have been undertaken in Kalgoorlie for some years now. It is 3/4 complete the white you see is the first of the butter flat breast milk marinas we have planned.
This place looks pretty sweet! Doesn't matter which way the wind is coming from!
You'd probably have the whole place to yourself too, I think the french are finished with it....you might lose all your hair and teeth after a session though, or glow in the dark......anyone kited moruroa atoll yet?
Seco Island the Philippines. Off the west coast of Panay, 18km from Magalolong. 6hr boat ride from Boracay. ~300m Sand island, a few fisherman 20-25knots and butter flat water.
Thanks Echo, esquire, just put that fantastic shot of D.I into 'my photo's'....hope the leg is healing well for you...must be a bit awkward to get in n out of the plane!

i have a place to beet most of them but no thanks to euros invading. It could hold around 10 people in the flat water, 7 on the frequently overhead X wind reef break and another 2 on the other break + around 30 in the bay. winds stronger than Perth, comes in earlier, more consistent but so far its all mine thank you very much noone else say where it is otherwise it will be ****ty like lanno when the touros hit
Curses, just when I was about to get some work done.
I had a very memorable session in that flat section at DI one day. All to myself, about 18-20 knots NE, hot day and be buggered if I didn't leave the esky at home. I had a couple of waterbottles but nowhere to keep them cool, and I nearly bloody broiled myself from the inside. The water was incredibly warm, shallow as it was, the air was warm, and when I tried to cool down by drinking water that was warm too it just didn't do anything. I'd almost go as far as calling it unpleasant, but it wasn't enough to stop me from about a 3 hour session so it can't have been that bad.

What right does any freaking ahole have to screw such a beautiful part of the planet. That area is going to be unusable for thousands of years now as radioacitve waste has a half life of 10,000 years. Arghhh...

I was really angry that the frogs had to do that but I couldn't stop it.
Nice photos Echo. My last comment should have been outside the yellow box. Don't know how I did that. Great to hear you have healed that quick you are actually out kiting already ?
Despite the frogs love of screwing over anything that sounds like "moruora", "bikini" and "rainbow warrior", I actually suspect it may be safe there for kiting. I've seen vids of people diving there, and all the ocean movement has flushed away the radioactivity.
Now the islands themselves - THATS another story - you may want to stay on a live-aboard...
