Good luck with that, I clocked in for the half ton on the 4th. Took the day off, weather report was looking good, 30+ knots and 2 metre swells at the local. Arrived at the beach, air temp 11 degrees plus wind-chill, driving rain etc. No-one out kiting but a few young dudes sitting in the comfort of their cars. Decided to show them up , man-up and take on the crap weather. Launched the kite and on the way out it started hailing, couldnt even see where I was going, the cold front went over and wind went 90 degrees and died to sub 10. Just made it in down the beach and had the walk of shame home. Forecast had the front going over 12 hours later than it did.
No happy birthday kite session for me!!
I got a magic midweek session a week later to make up for it. Only benefit to getting older is that its easier to bail out of work at short notice. Most of the midweek kiters seem to be older guys.
Enjoy you day whatever happens.
