Hi hookworm

i came 12 out of about 28 but also won a new kite, a 9 m core riot, and also got sponsorship from them. it was an awesome place that couldnt have been better because every morning when the tide was in there was a massive flat lagoon to practice on and when the tide went out of there we went into the rivermouth which was perfectly flat and also had a run out tide. As for the wind it was 20knts + for the first day then 25-30 knts + for the next two. I also kited from 7 in the morning to 6 at night every day because the wind didnt stop.

Ok. Here's a very small sample from the first heat on Saturday morning. Very quickly hacked together.

i think what you meant was double sbend blind???
this however isnt a double sbend blind
In an sbend your legs must go above your head and you must begin the trick from a railey. (a hard trick to do properly kiteboarding and very often named wrongly)
i would call this a double front spin to blind or nearly a double front spin dangle pass.

p.s. Andy's riding has improved out of sight and i am by no means ripping on him, i am just trying to correctly name the trick (as they often aren't).

I totally agree. There seems to be alot of tricks that get blow out of proportion because they look close to the real thing. I think the closest double s-bend 2 blind i've seen was on a cable flick??? And again not baggin andy cause I wouldn't come close.

I think it is important to draw the line somewhere when calling tricks, just because you do a boost and take one hand off the bar doesn't make it a kung fu, a backroll kiteloop is not a F-16. Half the "s-bends" out there aren't even s-bends.

You have to name the tricks correctly otherwise you look like an idiot and makes the sport look bad, because a double s bend to blind is a lot harder than a a double front spin.

I'm not ripping into Andy, I have seen him do them proper before. Just that its a slippery slope once you start letting things like that be called sbends. Next thing we know we will be calling a spin to dangle bar swap a mobe, o wait, we already are.

Me and a mate with a film company have started on a quality production based on the riding in and around this years nationals. Have a big collection of footage and some unique angles to sort through. Aiming at around 1/2 hour flick. So far is looking awesome. Let me know if you want a copy
