Just bought a kite off a guy in wa....no problems at all!!
Didn't use PayPal or anything like that, just dropped the money straight into his account....kite arrived in 3 days through Australia Post to the goldy....
My advise, ring the person and speak to them....face time even....as dafish said, trust ur gut and do ya homework, if it doesn't feel right....don't handover ya hard earned....
A legitimate person will answer ur questions correctly and usually do as u ask to make it a smooth transaction, Duncan took videos and pictures for me and answered ALL my questions....took photos just prior to sending it.....thanks again Duncan!!!
I have been caught twice.Had a gut feeling and didn't follow it.The scammer only texted. He didn't follow up with post or freight consignment tracking details.
I have always asked for direct deposit and a screenshot of transfer confirmation.
I have sold heaps of kiting equipment on Seabreeze and plenty of repeat satisfied customers.
Would definitely encourage anyone to ring up and have a chat.Ask questions or request more photos build up your positive feelings of trust between both parties. Can usually tell within a short conversation whether it feels good or not.Go with your gut feeling.
I will be prepared to negotiate postage or price to a point.Makes both parties feel comfortable with their purchase or sale.
Imo PayPal is a bit annoying fees, charges and waiting days for money to clear so I can Transfer into my bank account .
