Dunno about north kites unless the 2015 bars are better than the 2014.

I'm leaning towards air rush but know nothin about them never ridden one?

What are some options?

Airush can boost well, have had good experience on lithium(2013) new model 2015 looks fun, go and speak to the guys at the zu for airush gear.

the edge has a great rep for going big, am not sure on the draft/pivot from naish but would be worth a demo, jessie riechman was going huge on the draft at king of the air.

for airstyle Toby (airstyle guy) seems to ride huge north kites, i think the juice is supposed to be on that tip (have not flown but reviews have been ok)

Yeah Ozone edge is a boost and glide machine. It will out boost and glide the dice with ease. But it doesn't hold a patch on the dice in the waves.

I'm working my way to an awesome quiver than will give me a 10m edge (already got it) and a 10m dice. So I can have boosting days and wave days in the 10m size.

Does big boost = big glide? Or can you get a kite that will boost super high and just not glide much?

Yep a C kite can boost big if u know wat ur doin but no glide

Well Im confused !! I thought Low aspect kites like the Griffin argo's and the F-one B3's didn't jump so high because they were low aspect - but gave a nice glide and soft landing ?? And that High aspect kite like some of the ozones (eg ?? ) took you to the moon but could be a bit more savage??

So as I now know that Im part of the great unknowing - what is the story ?? Oh for frontliners value ;-)

The Griffin argo's are a great kite for boosting !! Give me my 7m Argo 30knots + and I'm looking down on the car park at my local . Heaps of power fast turning and float .
But getting those really big boost does have a lot to do with good technique .

if you want specific airtime, a profile like the edge, rebel, draft, nrg, etc will give you increased hangtime and decent boost, and importantly little bar input which youll want for described tricks , some c kites will go bigger than the edge but will require a fair bit of bar movement to produce the time reqd for tricks you describe, using your dice or any other decent jumping kite in its very upper limits will also give increased time, I find the with the edges beyond 11mts the boost diminishes still great hangtime but you lack the speed to redirect when taking off, which reduces height,its a trade off my biggest jumps have been on a 7mtr edge but needs a lot of movement overhead to get a second lift and comfortable landing, also the 2013 varial x 9mtr and my current hadlow id, a local goes huge on the switch nitro and the biggest jumps ive witnessed was a mate on a vegas 2010, 10mtr, but it was around 40knts

The edge has great hang time and is very smooth ,but if you want to start back rolling with your big airs I have found that the Vegas is much easier to feel where it is when you upside down In the air. The edge demands precise ,perfect movements to perform big airs with the roll where the Vegas is so much more fun and easy to control.I would say that the Vegas rips off the water harder ,but does not have the hangtime that the edge . I have the edges in the bigger size now as they are great for light wind ,but when it's nuking I will go for the Vegas as it has more dimensions for my style of free riding.I love doing big airs and want to try looping the kite this summer.The Vegas is also a clear winner in that department too.
Another kite I had a go on in 17 knots of wind last year was the core riot 9 m.I want to try this kite again in 25 knots .even at 17 knots I was impressed with its full jumping capabilitys and hang time in marginal conditions.
I have seen lots of kites boost huge and I have seen bandits ,catylists,rpm' s and many other kites.
At 30 knots I think you can boost huge on most kites if you have the right technique,but when it's marginal thats where a good boosting kite comes into play.

my airush razors get me huge air but the higher you go, the faster you drop. unless you loop it and wait for it to catch you on the way down

3m trainer will get u good boost and hangtime

2013 airush varial x, not the 2014 its a lot more c and much tamer for a heavier rider, not just a one trick kite like the edge, very nice kite, I was going to change to these but enjoyed the faster hadlow ids, some good reviews on kiteworld mag / gear/ review varialx 2013

Another kite that hasn't been mentioned on this thread yet is the Epic Screamer. Most reviews of this kite ive seen on Seabreeze and Kiteforum say it boosts massive, it can rip you off the water like a C kite and has the glide like an edge . Worth a look at , ill be trying one out next couple of weeks , cant wait.
