....watching a 20 knot seabreeze bend the palm trees outside your office window while your buddies are out kiting?

Nothing comes to mind.

Being stuck miles away from the coast and hearing the wind is perfect for kiting

OK, got my sh1t organised today - came in to work early so I can knock off early to greet the new Southerly change that's coming through today.

Reading some of the other posts - I actually did not have it too bad.

In 2006-2008. 1 kite quiver, usually a 12.

Guys frothing at the seabreeze, getting gear out furiously, pumping up madly, everything ready, wetsuit on almost and bang, leading edge explosion......

I wouldnt have thought your sons 12" remote controll quad bike would be a very secure kite anchorelol

That must of been one hell of a gust.
Better the bike was attached than you.

Unfortunatly yes! I thought it was a good idea at the time to use it as a beach anchor, But a freak gust spun the kite through the power zone moved the bike sideways then picked it up and slammed it down. the only saving grace is when the bike rolled it caught and rolled up the lines a little. Goes to show the power generated by a kite, it caught me completely by surprise, Back to my normal beach launching technique. Ps there was no one else on the beach so there was no risk of injury

Trying to "quickly" replace your North centre line so you can head out for a kite! Far out, what a painstaking process!
