Waroo pulleys, pulling through knots

Guys,

Today i had both pulleys that are attached to the kite, have the knots pull through when powering the kite.The left side happened first, then after reattaching and testing, the right side pulled through. Anyone had this happen, and if so what did you do to remedy the problem

Sounds like the bridle had an aftermarket job done to it? What year is the kite, did you buy it second hand?

Post a photo so Joe Millen can have a look at it...

It was an 08 and yes i did purchase it second hand, worked allright last season, today was the first day out.

Bo is right - it does sound like something is amiss.
Bring it in to KSS Scarbs or Woodys on Tues.

EDIT^^^^^^Beaten by the above....
You need to take the p-line off and feed the knot through the hole of the pulley then loop it over the pulley, creating a kind of half hitch. The pulley hole was not designed to be connected by a knot only. It looks like the pulleys were replaced and not attached properly. Hope this helps. a picture speaks a thousand words.

How freaky is this..........
So Darkside brings his 2007 9M Waroo in as suggested. As expected some douche bag had sold him the kite with attachment points dangerously way off regulation.
We worked out immediately that the problem was a total DIY botch of the attachment of the outer pulley to the leading edge. Problem then was we didnt have a model of how it should be set up according to 'the book' (which doesnt exist but we are fixing that problem too now).
Awaiting return advice from the kite gods ... guess wot....
Another dude rocks in asking for a bridle line he had lost off (u guessed it) his 2007 9M Waroo
Very conveniently we were able to replace dude 2's missing bridle line (from our kite wrecking yard) while we checked out the standard attachment set-up of dude 1's problem pulley .
AND... This is probably the first 2007 Waroo I have seen thru the shop ever. 2 in the same day???? with the 2nd solving the 1st problem..... wooooooo

Wicked puppet, you could have also figured it out using the latest Bullaroo kite. The latest bularoo is a highly refined version, and a sick kite, but same config. as a 2007. Dont fix whats not broke. Some parts eg P-lines are hard to get, I wish they would post the line length on the websites, it would make things a lot easier and guys back on the water, quickly. Customer service when things go wrong is when you keep a customer for life..

Best is considered not a top end kite in Australia, yet one of the biggest brands in the rest of the world, ever heard of Neil Pryde????, thats who they do R&D with. Ford, Holden, ha, Id rather buy a toyota or subaru

Do yourself a favor ,undo those pulleys and throw them to the sh1thouse.had one of those cheap ronston ones explode on me a couple of weeks ago .Nearly drowned me and nearly destroyed my kite . Was on a 12 m in about 30 kts just landed a huge boost the kite loaded up ,the rope actually pulled throughout ( ripped through ) the plastic eye part of the pulley ( not the sheave end , the other).this caused the kite to go into the dreaded death loop.lucky for me is a fifth line kite so I hit the safety . Ended having a big swim back to the beach.

Have changed all pulleys on my kites the the newer 20mm to ronstan ones (like the ones naish kites come with) .harken have also just released a nice little 18 mm block which would also do the job.

Geez Rattlehead in 30knots I'm fully lit on my 7m. You, out on a 12? I guess the type of kite it is and body weight plays a role, but a 12 of any type really would give you minimal control over your destiny there mate? I guess there's a thrill in that for you?

Anyhow the point is that this kind of "overclocking" of your kite's gonna increase the likelyhood of meltdown. Following manufactur's ratings and using original parts would be what Id advise above all.

My opinion for what its worth. Could be wrong of course.

Hey guys, Puppet and darkside. The manuals are available online, I forgot to mention. 2006 onwards, all products..... this is a great resource for anyone wanting to DIY and for kiteshops doing repairs, etc.

When I went out it was about 25 kts very solid not gusty at all , a nice sea breeze ,at 115kgs 25 kts is perfect for me on the 12 ,I love sailing over powered ( bigger boosts ) . The wind picked up , rather than waste time to come in to pump up a 9 ,stayed out on 12m.30 knots is about the top end of the 12 for me.
No matter what size the kite , the amout of power they can potentially make is unbelievable , my post was not to brag on how big a kite I can hold down , was to warn people of the weeknesses of these particular blocks.
