We have been trying to get approval from the DPI (department for planning and infrastructure) over the last few days for the go ahead but i didn't leave them enough time for them to do the Safety Checks needed and inform the other water users so we wont be able to put any obstacles in the water this weekend.

I have sent a proposal for next weekend and I’ll post as soon as its cleared with a date if we get the go ahead, but are hoping to go for the 27th as some of the international riders will be on there travels home shortly after. As soon as I know I’ll let everyone know.

So it will just be free styling as usual this weekend, but a high level so still worth the trip perhaps.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused but we want to be covered and more importantly not jeopardize future events for anyone else.

Fingers crossed for next week!

Here is some shots of the work on the sliders and kickers, our C rail is coming together, 7.5 mtrs long and will be not an ollie on, the start and end will be a ride on with an elevated mid section (like a C / Rainbow rail combo)

the kicker is coming together also, we've done lots more on it today and also done the boards for stencils for the A frame and kicker to pimp them out!

Thanks for all the support and sorry to have to postpone.

Cheers

Toby

yeah i realised that.

Thats why we wanted to have it this weekend.

Our date isnt finalised, we need to get approved first, i didnt want a date clash but the issue is that International riders will be leaving soon after the 27th so theres not to many options on dates and saturday is Australia day.

I need to get approval before i can for sure say a date.

I daresay you could probably get away with it, a lot of freestylers not being so interested in big air and everyone else not so interested in freestyle. It would be a shame for those of us who want to see both though. Isn't it a long weekend?

If its a long weekend then i'm happy for it to be monday,

Before i set dates or speculate on dates i want to see first if its cleared with the DPI as it still needs to be gone over with them.

If it is a long weekend then i'd be stoked to hold it on monday, by tuesday the DPI should be looking into the event and hopefully i will get an answer.

I'll keep you all posted.

Monday is a public holiday according to the info page in the front of my diary, now that I've found it.

We wait with bated breath, that'd be a great way to spend the weekend. Booze it up on Saturday, big air Sunday and sliders/kickers Monday.

Hey guys,

Just had a look at the handy work, nicely done!!

Only want to raise one point as a safety issue.

The White slider looks to be made out of UPVC, please be aware that PVC is "Notch sensitive" and can fracture at any loaded up scratches or gouges. Please ignore this if it is made of ABS which would be ideal.

The HDPE one is brilliant and the low friction co efficient should have the boys moving nicely.

Hope the day works out well for you.

Have fun.

What a weekend if we get wind.....
old school dangly boosts of death Vs new school wakestyle tricks.
I dont think there will be much cross-over from the locals (dan damo dale etc. excluded). It's unfortunate if there is a bit of a clash, but we are at the mercy of the wind. So no real harm done.
I'd also love to see a sub-section of the big air contest... gnarliest/biggest kiteloop as it seems to be in vogue. At least we'd see some big stacks.....Bows/hybrids make it almost too easy?

Good effort guys, thats some serious bunning-ous you've been hitting over the past few weeks. That bloke from the bbc in the 70's would have been proud. Will be there with the old board to grind during the week...

Waveslave: diss it mate, it may not be hard core like the 1.5 metre swell your riding (WOOOOOOH!!) but people put in effort to build it... may not be your thing but dont be a cock at other peoples attempts to have fun.

Multiple car trips, lots of people carrying stuff. It sure ain't easy. Hopefully it will get the go ahead, can't wait to get it out in the water again.
