What's the difference between an unhooked frontloop and an s-bend? Is it how horizontal your body is through the rotation?

Lets's assume kite angle of 45 to 60 degrees. 60 degrees is low for me at this stage.

Pretty sure all the wake buffs will say that you have to do the rotation with the board above your head for it to count as an s-bend You also have to have your legs extended and not tucked up for maximum effect
Such things take practice and Abs to perform though

An S-bend is basically a raley into front loop, the more you tweek your body upwards and behind you the better it looks. Its all about the style

I believe the difference is for an S-Bend you need to have your body above horizontal, otherwise its a front loop.

a unhooked front is just as it sounds and a s-bend you do a full railey first then a front rotation

Thanks guys, I expected as much - maybe this summer.... I've got it waxed in my head but in reality is much harder.

its easy sunseeker, just throw hard into a raley and as you extend look over your back shoulder and let your body follow. push down on the handle through the whole move to stay off axis

its easier to do with the kite low than high, if the kite is high it will try to pull you upwards and you will have to fight to stay off axis. with the kite low it will make it easier to extend horizontally and you can just concentrate on the spin

I preffer the term "front Flip" or "Front Roll" rather than "front loop"

flip and roll are different. flip means you rotate over the rail (eg a tantrum). roll means you rotate over the tip of the board (eg a backroll)

You got it, anything with the term loop implies the kite. Usually a backflip is called a tantrum and a front flip, is called an egg roll. lol.

OK that was a proper s bend on the vids now can someone show me a propper front roll where they flip over not a front spin..
Plus one more to add to your quiver guys is a Tantrum, which is a Back flip round the front of the bar :-)

Haven't seen a front flip before. I can do a back flip off a wave where you get properly inverted - feels really cool to do a high slow one.

Here's an unhooked frontloop. Like an s-bend but not horizontal or off-axis. Probably the trick to try before the s-bend. Note, the word loop has been used here instead of roll - it does not refer to a kiteloop.

wtf was that horrible mess^?
it looks like a very half-arsed attempt at an s-bend. definitely not a front roll or an s-bend.
i can't believe anyone would promote that as an instructional video

As I said earlier... a front flip is called an eggroll. I used to be able to do them behind cable but never tried with a kite, you carve toeside do a quick trasition to heelside then back to toeside turn into your own wake and flip off it. Basically rolling over your own wake in a flowing flip... does that make sense?
