Thinking of changing to boots, however have some reservations before doing so.

First off, I have flat feet and suffer pain in the arch's of my feet when snowboarding. My feet always burn the first few hours when snowboarding, and I'm worried that this will be the same case if i convert to boots whilst kiteboarding. Will i most likely encounter the same problem? Are wakeboard boots done up as firm as snowboard boots?

Do wakeboots come with any type of innersole or do they just have a footbed?
How should boots fit exactly? i.e wiggle room, heel lift etc.
Does anyone else suffer from arch pain when riding wakeboots?

I don't have any problems with my cab syncs that i ride at the moment, so i'm thinking my pain purely stems from how tight the support is around my foot.

Any insight would be great. cheers

yeah some Ronix boots use a heat mouldable innersole for your foot shape, do a bit of net research... you can get them for half the price of Oz reatailers

yea pretty much what they have said... i would probably not get a pair of ronix they are super comfy and light but they break alot... there is no way i would tell u to by them from overseas cause u wont get warranty, and if u are actually going to do anything with them other than dangle you WILL break them.. not sure on the new 2012 boots though. just try a heap on and see whats comfortable

Tried some ronix one's on today and yeah they were very comfy and light. What model have you broken and which parts? I couldn't see them lasting more than a season if i'm kiting 2-3 times a week...

iv got 2010 ronix franks they havent given me any trouble yet but I can see the laces being broken if you give it a flogging for long enough also the easy adjustable bolts that come with it didnt fit on a custom for some reason cant remember why now

Most wakeboards, so most wake boots, have 1/4" hardware. Kiteboards are metric because they are thin. M6 gives more turns for the same depth. LF is going metric this year on all their hybrids and i think their whole 2012 range.

just make sure your toes arent right at the end otherwise on some hard landings you will get toe jam and it hurts.

Boots should be snug, and you should tighten the laces a decent amount. Despite this, the board might still be ripped off your feet in a hard crash. The worst thing you can do is have loose boots, where one foot comes out and the board twists your other leg around.

...and no, i don't kite with boots, but i do wakeboard.

yeah you definatly do not want one foot coming out. that will end badly
