Could it be a sort of demarcation line for kites?

No kites on the side nearest the lookout ?

Seems to me the lookout is there to watch the kiters ?

What? No punji sticks and broken glass on the top rail. What a half arsed job!

I hear second stage is the implementation of Land mines.

Good luck, I hope they have good PL insurance.

the rail around the deck is ok no one should be up there anyway.
but unless your bringing a horse to the beach the fence is an over reaction and a waist of tax payers money .
couple of the local crazy bums will probably make a fire out of it anyway.
that is if a newby does`nt rearange it with themselves first.

The bloody council again.....they never consult the parties concerned.
Firstly we wanted a secure place to kite....so they locked the Kurnell gates.
Secondly, we wanted a slider to be installed....we said it sort of looks like a fence, and has to stick above the water.....that would have to be one massive high tide for that to work....and nasty splinters if you Fk up....should be interesting when the big winter storms bring that 5000 extra tonnes of sand up the beach....tripping hazard for sure, when the "Slider" is only 6 inchs above the sand level.

Now you are onto something there cabron, I think the next meeting of the SSKC should be on the beach at 1am with shovels and we move the slider to the correct position!!

All in favor say aye!

If I were you guys,I would be heading down to the Council quick smart and finding out the nature and extent of these "additions"

They could be more extensive, more decks, posts, barriers, coffee shop etc...

You could end up without a launch area !

it`s going to be interesting to see how the beach gets cleaned now the fence is up. it`s got so much glass and crap on it normaly but now the beach tractor won`t be able to get anywhere near that. watch out for you feet this summer.

They are actually way ahead of everyone on this, factoring in global warming for the slider

excuse my ignorance but what is that "slider" actually for?

I reckon it is to stop the pesky sand from being blown onto the nice black bitumen road/car park, and from there into the few houses on the corner. They will cover it in green shadecloth or something soon, I'll add another pic when its all finished.

Yep Vader - correct, that section of the beach will now be rubbish central!!
Many of us locals do pick up every bit of glass we see, but its a real concern how much is there!
I probaly average a backpack full of empty stubbies and all types of broken glass per week, especially over summer. Some days I cannot fit it all in one pack!! Grrr!
Amazed there are not more cut feet!

Its for tethering your horse when you have ridden up the beach and want to stop for a cold one at the I'm OK Coral.

Also doubles as an auto launch assistant and a good post to hang wetsuits and harness on to dry.

Putting a shade cloth on will only catch Sand in a NE and hopefully increase the amount of sand on the point.

Hilarious...love it.....however, if it's global warming....then bring on the NE'ers.

Seriously though, it's going to be the best rubbish catching device yet, and stop the ability to tractor the beach...why cant the shade cloth go up on the path way, if its for sand.

Anyway, it is only a matter of time until someone decides to burn it down, knock it over or pinch it for their own backyard....really....let start a comp. to see how long it lasts.

Will the fence last until the first thermal NE'er of the season?????

Apparently its growing!!!
I'm not able to post a pic at the mo, but will do soon.

I like the idea of hitching my horse to it, and also to have a late night barby on the beach.
