There was a guy at Leighton yesterday who helped me out.
Guessing he was a newbie but was able to land my kite and reassure me as i writhed around in pain on the beach.

HE flew an RRD 12m, his only kite and wore yellow boardies.
Thanks.

There was also another bloke, strapless on a flexi who came to have a looksee too....Thanks to you too!!

A day in Freo ED today confirms a broken fkn ankle.

OUCH - ankles are harsh.
Sooo sorry to hear your news.
If its any consolation (probably not now but it may be a few days on) at least Kitestocks over & its the end of the season; not the start or middle.

And thanks to yellow boardies or looking after my pal - sounds like you did good.

Ouch. Frustating. Still, as the man said, at least it's March, not October.

I can understand the extra bit of height. Out yesterday going higher than ever, and broke my footstrap
Man it was sooooooo good.
Such a shame about the ankle. Hopefully it doesn't cause any problems etc.
I always find its the newer/learner kiters the ones to help the most.

Oups!

Sorry to hear that PR.

Injuries at the end of the season are sooo much better than earlier on...

For further consolation, I twisted my ankle yesterday during a dodgy landing from a high jump... Hehe! Landing with a 7m is a bit harsher than with a 10m!!! But that's not going to stop me kiting for long...

Thanks all....

Meet the Otho surgeon next week for a "we need to do...."

Until then its a lot of hobbling and nagging of the wife.

Unlucky mate from the swelling and your hobbling around, my suspicions were the anterior talofibular ligament or a similar tear.
I'm glad you could hobble and I didn't have to carry you up the beach! Hope its not too long before you're back on the water.

Meanwhile, I gotta get me a smaller kite for these stronger winds...

Sorry to hear of your injury PR. i'm sitting here with my ankle in a moon boot been in pain for 3 weeks since crashing into a sandbank while windsurfing. Booked for MRI tomorrow to see where the fracture is? Ortho thinks it might be the talus bone???fractured on several torn tendons?

Did they tell you how long you will be off the water for?

it totally sucks as we have had heaps of wind here lately and i h ave no idea when I will be bak in action
