Tamatoa Gillot managed to develop a kite harness, which allows him to carry a person. There's one rule, though. Girls only. One of the first girls to try the kite stunts was Lea Bernadet, a former competitive skier, who has been the victim of an alpine accident that made her paralyzed, at only 19."Putting up Lea was intense. I totally obscured her handicap, then I realized that the position for a quadriplegic in handisport is a sitting one, at the opposite of what we were doing! It was a lot of emotion for both of us", says Tamatoa Gillot.
I think it would make a great addition to the kitesurfing school worldwide to make tandem harnesses like this. I wonder if a certified kite instructor were to say "set up their own business" doing this, what would be potential hazards in the way of safety laws? Would it be just as simple as signing a document saying that the participant takes all ownership of potential injury?
