Has anybody tried or seen one of these? It wouldn't take long to pump up!

Compared to the Airblast that kite is as solid as a rock. The airblast could jelly like no other, but damn it was a great kite in its day.

Jellyfishes as much as my airblast used too. Those 2 words wont make much sence if you started kiting 05 onwards.

Try the first cab blacktips they jelly fished like no other... First kite I actually bought myself, 15.5m projected. Shop told me it was a good size for beginners. I was all of 50kgs at the time haha.

struts add weight, drag, and cost. if you can use fewer and retain stability you'll have a better kite in every way. the styling looks like a kitsch '70s ufo, and i'm still undecided as to whether that's a good thing.

reminds me of an idea i was pondering recently.

for those who ride 5th line sle's, why not a three line kite? one front line goes to a simple radial bridle, and two steering lines as usual. if it wanted to somehow roll through it's lines, the bridle would not bow-tie it like a regular 5th, it would spread the load across the whole kite and tend to unwind it back to where it should be. there would be some design work in terms of bridle geometry and depower/changing angles of attack, but no more than ozone are already doing without pulleys.

It would seem that all these different designs have been tried before. Seems like a great idea to keep it simple, but I wonder whatever happened to them?
