Ok, so for you old hands at kiting have probably been getting some regular sessions in over the last few months, but for newer guys like myself, and gals, are hanging out for the regular seabreezes to come back.

So I propose a seabreeze tipping comp

There is no prize other than the social status increase that comes from being viewed as a meteorological genius by your peers.

And hopefully if we all wish hard enough the seabreezes will come back early, and then we all win

So, what to you reckon?
When will the seabreezes come back?

See how good your guesstimation is; name the state & date for it that you think will be the start of the regular seabreezes.

I have no idea, so I'll throw my bet as;

WA 6th October (please please please!!)

You might wantg to define what you mean by the seabreeze is back? A minimum wind speed/range, days in a row...etc as we actually had a southwester seabreeze a couple of weeks back - just a freak one day thing.

September 15 and been out 16 days so far. Missed one day cos I left the beach too early and the last few I have missed due to a overused sprained ankle.

Yeh default that's what I was talking about, it was one day I remember 15-18 knots or so... so this needs to have conditions for it to be valid.

And turtlehunter... hope ya ankle kills! Ha hA Ha

I was fortunate enough to be up there just now too... (not happy to return to jumpers & hail)

The crowds were insane. At times it there were over 3 of us kitesurfing at the same time...

I for one will miss the wild winter whether, the North Westerly wind, big swell, big wind spike forcing you to hang on for dear life and the rush of being the only one (with a couple of mates) braving the conditions.

However, I do look forward to the exhausted feeling due to the ongoing kiting and I like to kite in my boardies

Winter was awesome, bring on a great summer

One offs don't count.

I thought every wind junkie knew what a seabreeze was; does this help clarify?

"A sea-breeze (or onshore breeze) is a wind from the sea that develops over land near coasts. It is formed by increasing temperature differences between the land and water which create a pressure minimum over the land due to its relative warmth and forces higher pressure, cooler air from the sea to move inland."

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_breeze

Should wind speed matter or even make a difference to the classification of a seabreeze?
If it's kitable that's all that matters.

And of course local situations may be ahead of the game, if you have regular seabreezes back in your part of the coastline, lucky you.
