A mediocre, and height challenged local, who happens to live near one of the better cafe's to park near and be seen at, has volunteered to let Laurie use feeds from his "who's at the cafe spy cam" and weather station.

Now the rednecks from the northern beaches will be able to tell when its windy enough to head down to the cafe, yay!
Or to do something really useful like polish the wheels on their cars?

Meanwhile its blowing and the wave is happening at Dolls.

I'm suprised more people in Oz don't do this sort of thing. In Cyprus, a guy called Mirco has strapped a wind meter and webcam to his roof and gives updated readings every 10 minutes:

I suppose Seabreeze in Oz is a lot more reliable than windfinder is in Cyprus so it isn't as necessary. But it is very handy to be able to see exactly what's happening at the location and see if any kiters are out etc.

Yeah, yeah Daryl that sort of thing is very cool for those of us who actually use the wind readings for kiting and other windsports (are there any others??).

The meter on the Northern beaches though is for coffee drinking, which is pretty much all the time over there.
And if its not coffee sipping time its time to do some ironing or knob polishing.
