This is why we need red-thumbs back Laurie. To signify some form of sad or frustrated emotion, at situations where kiters get hurt or worst. Why not a set of emojis like on FB? You could gain a lot of marketing data for your sponsors Laurie. Just an idea. ![]()

It was you and all of your red thumbs that got them banned in the first place Lofty. I've always held you personally responsible. ![]()
Nasty, I nearly drowned once getting dragged underwater with the kite firmly jammed In a double head rinse cycle. It took all my strength to get my hands to the safety then pull it. It seems a simple easy thing to do. But when the force of the water is almost snapping your back against the harness its incredibly hard to reach the safety,
i was looking at previous forum posts relating to eject type harnesses - surely this will be something everyone will have in a few years time

Yes I think need to design a harness eject sistem
If you cant reach the primary safety on the chicken loop what makes you think you can reach a safety on the harness. To be better than current designs it would need to be a deadman safety, ie activate automatically. That would be a hard thing to design.
I reckon is easier to reach a zipper on the side of your harnesses better then a double eject like bar and safety a similar situation happened to me just a few days ago a dropped my kite in a heavy surf and took me a few crucial seconds to eject my safety
Just an idea for the designers out there something need to change quickly
PS WATCHING THE HURLEY PRO Go Toledo and Silvana Lima never give up warrior BRAZILIAN STORM
I think that there are too many so called safety systems each slightly or totally different with every kite/bar setup.
might be fine for flatwater kiters but wave kiters do need a simple system to bail the lot quickly and easily when needed.
the lot meaning harness and all, depending on which bit gets jammed , stuck ,,twisted, broken theres not enough time in the surf to think or reach or see what to do. big wave surfers seem to be able to activate there buoyancy units when required, surely we can come up with something, more importantly hopefully safe some lives.
This is a question not a statement. Doesnt the dynabar ball release allow you to dump all? The leash is still attached but a short leash could be ridden unattached if dumping lot is primary whilst out in surf, Then attach short leash as you prepare to land on the beach?
agree the all up harness release is one stop fool proof you think, unless your wrapped in line somehow.
