G'day Viewers

Patrick is coming to say hi to me and the missus, and wants to go for a kite with locals at Wanda. He should arrive at the shop around 1.30, then we will arrange for Patrick to head over to Wanda for a session, than maybe back to the Races final for a beer and slice of Pizza.
Call the shop for more details, but thats all I know at this stage.

I'll be busy at the Race Series/Racing State Titles finals.

Patrick is meant to stay at my place and the plan is to hit Wanda early if the wind stays. I'll make an early post if we do head down there.

Was a great morning, got Patrick to the airport on time, however he escaped with all my photo's. Let him copy them straight off the card while we were packing up at the beach but somehow he deleted them off my card so it will be a couple of days before I can post anything.....
Patrick did say he really enjoyed meeting all the locals, yesterday and today, and hopes to be back again later this year.....

Well Patrick left my photos, and I'm glad to say with his tips I got a lot more nice shots, pity the wind did not stay around and we did not have to leave so soon, but Patrick has been bitten by Australia and he will definitely be back...

Patrick gave me a couple of simple tips that he had been given from other great photographers he has traveled and shot with, and I can really see the difference. he also showed me a function in Lightroom 4 that I had completely overlooked, which helped me process these images to look a lot better too.
And of course Patrick himself oozes talent and style in buckets!!
I've got a heap more pics including a couple of good ones of Richie, sending to Evan...

Leo has some transportation issues that will take a few more weeks to sort out, in the meantime he has decided to stay down the Gong to be near his kids, and he can get to the surf and waves easier.
The wind died off a lot around when we left which was 10.45'ish

Hey Steve,

Would love to hear what some of those tips were... Also, what was the function in Lightroom he told you about? Would love to learn more.

Cheers!

First tip was to use the custom control function and separate the shoot and focus functions on my cameras, so that you use your thumb to operate the A/F on button, and your forefinger to activate the shutter button.
Second was to use the brush adjustment in LR4 to add light and colour to shadowed areas of the riders body
They both probably sound simpler than they are, I'm still getting used to using both, but am getting better keeper rate for sure.

Colours and clarity are as best i've seen, especially given that it was an overcast sky. I was only just down the road that day and understand. It would be great to see PR back this way to appreciate true talent. Seems, this guy is the one and it would be fun to see a bit more future moves.

Great... Thanks for the advice Steve. I'll do a bit of research on both over the weekend.

Cheers
