Would people like to go away to Hawks Nest or somewhere nearby there for that weekend? Haven't checked the other posts. I'd love to kick start the season that way, and spend some quality time working on my rotations and drinking a few exeptional locally brewed beers in the evenings! :-)
Alternatively, if there's a group going someplace near there, I'd love to join you!

Hawks Nest is about 45 mins north of Newcastle, NSW. On the northern edge of Nelson Bay. Is that any help? It's a great sandy arc which goes for miles. Great in a whole lot of breezes. Nor'easters, are great, then if it's a southerly we go to Jimmy's which is great also and only a few mins walk.

Hawk's Nest is about 45 mins north of Newcastle NSW. It's a beautiful arc of sand and great in a variety of breezes. If the sea breeze doesn't come in, and it's a southerly instead, we just walk down to Jimmy's. Check out www.nswkba.com.au

Consider Stockton Beach Caravan park, its right on stocko beach which is great in anything from north to south east, nobbys is just across the harbour,
Birubi point, which is the other end of stockton beach is perfect in a southerly, and about 1/2 hr in the car, and squids ink is also 1/2hr away if you get westerlys.
Speak to Mr.Float(lach) he is the local kite shop owner, and is a bundle of info regarding kite locations, also a really friendly bloke.
There is a group of us who are stocko regulars, that would join you.

hey Lester ,right at the other end of the spectrum and not so close we,ve got a group going to be at Thredbo for snowkiting from 15-21 Sept ,heaaps of snow good value accom ,good lift ticket prices . Group is about 10-15 thus far ,should be a great week or turn up for any part of it .
Oct long weekend season starter at hawks nest sounds like a great idae .Build it and they'll come .9just keep the word out there )

Yes, I know I can't organise a r**t in a brothel. I could have tried harder, but now I'm blaming a meeting in Melbourne tomorrow morning which has been called at the last minute.
