I used to ride a rebel.Has lots of good points but back stalling was a issue unless the wind was really over powering. The other issue was the fifth line.If your kite starts rolling in the surf it can tangle up and even tear your kite.Dont get me wrong the fifth line saved me more than once when i had to dump the kite.Try a three strut purpose built wave kite, rrd religion ozone reo cab drifter, and etc find a dealer and test as many as possible .all the best
Gaz, totally get your 5th line issue, and thats why i used to ride the FUSE.
Pretty much the same kite, but in a bridle 4 line steup.

Went upwind as well as a Dyno and Edge, wow, while I find that extremely hard to believe, based on your accurate observations so far there must be something in it. It is the aspect that make the rebel such a great booster.
I have a 17m DYNO and 13m 10m rebels for racing.
I find that i can point just as high, and hold good enough speed as guys on the other mentioned models.
I think this could be part of its issue.. flying through the window so fast, makes for in stability once on the other side.
It is definitely a great kite for all round shinganiagns, but if your a hardcoure wave guy, id be going a FUSE (for fast riding) or even the NEO, which is surprisingly a whole lot of fun.
Im not sure what i'm going to take home for chrissy, but i think a NEO and REBEL will both score a place in my bag of tricks.
