Hey all,

I land the backroll 80% of the time now, and am improving my raley's rapidly. What is the next easiest trick in line to master?

I am same as you. Started with Backroll. Then Frontroll. (No Raley's yet though!!) Now I want to just do jumps with a kiteloop.

What's a raley? I'm getting there with back roll's and jump transitions now. I was going to hit kite loops next but raley's sound much 'cooler'...!

Raleys won't take long to pick up. Good ones take time and effort though.
I'd say go for the loops.

A really fun easy trick that i still love has a few different names but i like to call it the poo man! this involves boosting as high as you can then trying to push your legs up at the kite so your bum is aiming at the water. Not only is this trick pleasing to the eye and onlookers but feels great.

You could always go for the raley with a kiteloop if you really can't decide. Not that hard to do but really hard to do well.

Righto - I did try going un-hooked once and it half killed me! I can't understand how you manage to control the power of the kite. I un-hooked and then the full power of the kite instantly hit me and 'bam' I was all over the shop and the kite was in the water.

I imagine it's easier to try it on the beach first with assistance to help get it un-hooked so you can put 100% concentration into the kite and keeping it in the air?

Nononononononono. don't do it. Not on the beach.

To unhook:

-Ride normally, a long way away from anyone and anything hard (beach, rock walls, roads, cars, boats, aeroplanes).
-Pull your trim (depower) in totally so you are fully depowered.
-Keep riding normally, holding your edge.
-put the kite at about 10 o'clock
-veer off downwindm toward the kite a bit, so it depowers a bit
-Pull the bar all the way in until it is against the chicken loop
-Pull a little more to unhook the chicken loop
-Hold the kite unhooked, try to reset you edge
-Ride for a few second and then veer off downwind again, lose power in the kite and hook back in.

Practice, practice practice.

stick with the rolls for now get them dialed bigger and bigger then start adding in some board grabs, style link it in to other tricks try landing toeside or try a double rolls go old school and ad a loop to your roll or try unhooking and going the f16.

all kiting tricks are just combinations of the same moves, spins rolls grabs loops handlepass board offs boosts transitions turns popping boosting etc just getout there ride and make up your own moves with your own style

I wish - it's a frame grab from the F-one Addikt High Def video that I have watched 500 times. Filmed in Madagascar when the new Bandits came out. I can do the raley bit - not the mega loop bit.

You need to bear off before you unhook otherwise you won't be able to get the chicken loop out of the hook. Definately don't try on the beach.
