When looking for a new kite, it is easy to become overwhelmed by the choices on the shelf and hard to decide which will best suit your needs. When it seems that nearly every kite claims to have the performance characteristics that you're looking for, how do you determine, "which is the best kite for me?"
So what makes the Naish Pivot, Slash and Dash different? Robby Naish and Damien Girardin break it down to the details with this in-depth explanation of each kite in the line. In this conversation-style informative video, you'll discover the finer differences between each kite and the features that give them the character they're so known for. Bar pressure, number of struts, aspect ratio. . . all are discussed in this candid conversation between one of the most legendary watermen of all time and the man who designed some of the most progressive kites in the history of the sport.
Whether you're looking for your first kite, or ready to take your riding to the next level, there is a kite in the Naish line for you-it's just a matter of deciding which one.
In all seriousness though, It made a few solid points all be it not so clear. Marketing is a bit out of hand these days. Naish included. I guess it leaves it up to the shops to accurately weed through the hype sell the right kite to the right guy. Id like to say they are but I meet people all the time that get sucked in. Hell I do myself at times.
Correct me if i am wrong, but didn't Naish start the whole marketing driven spiel to have to consume a new kite every season? Now every kite manufacturer or designer is on the same bandwagon.
I love the sigma shape they told me I had to get a little while back and now I need new quad-tech leading edges!
I am a cynic now and look for secondhand kites that look a step above others on the water.
Robby is a legend of my childhood when sailboarding was the schizz.

yep. i was trying to be diplomatic but your spot on.
It's always easy to look back over past innovations and weigh them against modern progression. Naish also started out with 2-line kites, windsurfing went from Mylar, to Monofilm to Scrims and cams and so on. The journey is just that.
