Couldn't agree more Chadster and Big Wave Dave. Dusta for FARKS sake, don't renew your subscription!!!! I'm sure you won't be missed one little tiny bit by the crew at KBM and nor will your broken record bleating be missed by any of us here either.

I noticed the same price for this magazine in NZ as Australia... can I subscribe and pay in NZ dollars? That would give me a 28% discount ......

No!

Thats discriminatory!...

Hate to be on the whingers side, but what are the benefits of subscribing? I subscribe to support a great magazine from some talented publishers but if I unsubscribe and just get my copy from the newsagent I'd still be supporting. AND I'd get my mag quicker. Please explain.

i'll stay in wa , but the mag was pretty dissapointing . I know the mag needs advertisers to make some money but holy crap there were alot of adds in the mag . More adds than substance it seemed

Polite note to KBM. Use high res pics.
There were a few top notch pics that were pixalted to buggery. Looked like they were taken straight off someones facebook. Kitemag was doing that a few issues ago and they seem to have fixed that now. Much easier on the eyes. Overall great read though

I thought the mag was pretty good this issue.
p.s
Had a good chuckle at the Ian A article though with a few people, after someone pointed it out at the PKRA.

Awesome mag Beav, quality photos, BUT
I noticed a quiet little section about mid north coast and it said something about north of Old Bar..... Buy them a beer and you might have made a friend for life or somethhing similar... Let it be known that beer buying is not optional if you are a blow-in to Middle Rock. Localism is alive and well and we like Coronas, thanks [}:)]

Hey Ezza, somehow the word Middle Rock got left out, was the only edit in the entire article. Any chance one of the boys got into Beaver's ear? I know how tough that crew is up there, Im too scared to visit !!!

Please stop calling it a "Test" on the cover when you just copy and paste stuff from the manufacturer. You've dont this before with bars, harnesses, boards, and now Sunscreen. The sunscreen "test" was a blurb from the Cancer Councils facbook page (at least they were credited) and then a blurb from each of the makers. It just comes off as lazy. With the exception of layout, and photos, I suspect that "test" was cracked out in an hour of Googling. I wasn't expecting a scientific test but how hard would it have been to give staffers/a few kiters down the beach some tubes to test and write about their likes/dislikes? Even if you don't want to put in the effort, just call it a review and not a test.

I don't like to see editors notes like "Need Hi-res" left on the photos when it goes to print either. Mistakes happen but it wasn't a hard pick up.

I did like the Slider DIY and the Our Land sections though. I'll keep subscribing but I would like to see the boys raise their game a bit.

Damn, I've been wanting to say this for ages.

It applies to all Aussie kite boarding mags - manufacturers' marketing spiels is something I can read on the net anytime, copying the spiel instead of doing a real test & review of kiting gear doesn't really give much incentive to buy mags.

Kitesurf mag, for example, does a great gear testing section; something to aspire to perhaps guys?

Ditto, read the mad from cover to cover in 15 minutes and haven't looked twice at it since. (and I am a slow ready)

Sorry Guys, all for supporting local production but there is more information free on the net than what the mag offers. Copy paste crap, really!

I bought two editions ago and thought I would give it another go with this edition, not spending another cent om KBM, I'd rather buy oversees stuff for the same price.

Cheers, and all the best with the mag.

Hey guys
Thanks for the feedback and we will certainly take your points on board.
Just so you know the gear sections are an opportunity for our advertisers to show case their new gear - all the material is supplied by the brand / advertiser and we basically give them a format to present the features and benefits of the the new products.
We will from time to time do a real product test - but as you can imagine this is really tough to do and still keep your advertisers happy.

We are working on the next issue and we welcome contributions from our readers
we are also bring back a letters to the editor section .

So if you would like to give us more suggestions we are more than happy to run by the team. send to beaver@kbmag.com.au

Just so you know our vision for the mag is provide a platform which showcases Australian kiting, Our riders, our locations, and our events. We also add an international view by profiling some key international riders and we profile destinations in our travel stories that may inspire you you to go kite some new overseas. We are also trying to promote new Ausie photographers by running profiles of them and their work. On top of that we do our best to give the local industry an opportunity to promote their businesses and activities.

thanks again for the input

Thats all fine and dandy but you got to give some substance otherwise you going to loose readers and shortly after that, brands/advertisers.

The mag is a 1/2 the size of Kitew**ld and as far as I can recall the same price??

Good luck,

just a little suggestion . Normally a subscription means that you receive your copy well before it hits the shelves in the newsagents . Well over here in WA it seems we get them well after it hits the shelves . That coupled with a magazine that just seems to be getting thinner on decent content each edition means once this subscription runs out i am done .
