Some airlines are pretty clued up on the golf bag thing. Singapore Airlines knew exactly how much a golf bag should weigh. After i told em it was a bag of clubs, they wanted to see inside because it was too heavy (2 kites, 1 board, harness & 2 lines).
Low and behold......it's not a set of clubs!! Then they wanted to search all my bags because i'm clearly untrustworthy. can't remember how much i was charged but it was a lot.

You should fly our national airline mate...(just kidding).
But at least you can declare it with QAN. Last time I traveled to Camsur I declared my wakeboard beforehand and there were no issues whatsoever.
I will have an old golf club in the bag (in case AA will make a fuss out of it). At least I'm not a liar. The board and kites will only be secondary.
