Am I the only one who is a little confused at the fact that beginners are now using the kiddies pond as a training ground to learn to go upwind? In the past, riders in this area at least knew how to jump, but now it seems to be expanding.

To add to this, some instructors seem to now think its okay to use this as a training area for relaunching and flying the kite, understandable if there is no one around but extremely annoying when there are people trying to ride and you having to deal with unpredictable riders who don't know basic right of way rules.

omg thankyou sooo much for starting this topic saffer . it drives me mad. sometimes we get 3-5 people just sitting with their kites at 12 in the shallows for 1-2 hours learing to get up on the board. i know its an awesome area to ride but for anyone who is not unhooking or crashing regularily (doing tricks...... not trying to get up on the board) there is no advantages of the shallow water, just use the main area to the north! the kbv website has a great beach description if you are confused.

Couldn't agree more, the pond is no place for a learner. There is too much traffic. They are a danger to themselves and everyone else. Instructors should point this out when they give lessons.
