Yep the vid starts at hula then heads to black rocks which is between hula and gabagaba village, there is no road access to black rocks even though it sits on the coast. they get some riding in at idia island which is further off shore from fishermans.

as for surf, the guys were only here for 5 days so lucked out :( good swell rolling in now tho! hula is pumping with head hi + sets rolling in.

the reason for boat charters is that there are no guest houses in hula for a land based tourism. one day there will be but not just yet. also getting there is not so easy for someone who just gets off the plane. The boat allows people to see and kite a heap of different locations along the coast and offshore. get a real mix of riding.

as for motorbikes there is a huge following now and today they have an enduro at idlers bay if you can remember the spot.

the windsurfing association is still kicking being run by the people in taikone village (near gabutu) they have a bit of donated gear that they use to teach kids to sail every day after school, keeping them out of trouble and off the streets. really good program.

The MC Golden Dawn just departed Milne Bay yesterday on a epic 2 week trip of discovery..looking for new kite surfing locations along the Louisiade Chain of reefs, Conflict, Bramble Haven, Long Reef, Wari Island.. before returning to Port Moresby along the south coast ( Hula, Black Rocks, Wrecks).

This is Taurama, the local POM learning spot.
Taurama is located next to Sero, where the POM locals windsurf and kite in some nice waves.
So you got Taurama as an excellent flat water spot and Sero a great Waves spot right next to each other separated by some beautiful hills.
Also you are on an army base, going through check points to kite, it makes it a pretty safe spot.

IDIHI island...it is not Ilia or Ilia. No wonder I couldnt find it. Yes just a speck and really exposed to the trades. Probably the first and last guys to kite there in a loooong time.

lukey and matty wessom were frigging hard, few kiteloop mares. that day was the best kiteshow i have ever seen. Ewan, Keahi, Matty, Luke, Bellie.
